Further to the IEEE International Smart Cities Conference 2020 which was financially sponsored by IEEE Smart Cities with Technical Co-Sponsorship provided by the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society, there are many more co-operations such as this special issue which is initiated by the Editorial Board of the IEEE Engineering Management Review and IEEE Smart Cities Publications Committee. As given by the IEEE Smart Cities, a smart city is about smart energy, smart economy, smart mobility, smart environment, smart governance and smart living.
The rapid advancement of technology has revolutionized urban living, leading to the emergence of smart city development. A smart city infrastructure leverages cutting-edge technologies to improve the quality of life formcitizens, enhance sustainability, and optimize resource allocation. However, the successful implementation and management of technology in smart cities require careful planning, effective strategies, and innovative solutions that often entail management of multi-disciplinary projects.
The special issue on Technology Management in Smart Cities Infrastructure and Applications seeks to solicit review articles from researchers, academicians, industry practitioners, and policymakers to publish the latest developments in technology management for smart cities. We invite researchers and practitioners to submit original papers that address various aspects of technology management in smart cities infrastructure and applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Papers should be either review or survey type that fall into any one of the following categories:
