In this issue, I would like to highlight a few early access articles. These papers have been accepted recently and will be assigned to an issue soon. The first one is about AI Scalers: firms for which more than 30 % of their costs and revenues are already influenced by AI technologies. Their checklist to turbocharge AI scaling based on their findings is a must-read for all engineering managers (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/11004832). How to navigate strengths and weaknesses related to AI is the topic of the article „Navigating Artificial Intelligence With Human Stupidity… and Vice Versa“ (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/11015244). Another article is about standardization and standards—a topic that is very important to understand technological change and innovation diffusion (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/11159197).
Roadmapping is at the core of the next one I would like to introduce. This paper introduces a maturity assessment approach that evaluates past experiences and current roadmapping practices to guide organizations toward effective implementation, validated by a case study with a UK materials manufacturer, which revealed its value in tracking progress and informing future strategies (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/11151759).
My last recommendation is related to charisma. Many people want it, some people think they have it. But can you learn to become a charismatic speaker? This author is convinced that this is the case (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/11045944).
