About the Case
The case study presents student teams with a real-world scenario where they must act as consultants to an early-career engineering manager facing the challenge of rapidly building an effective and scalable engineering workforce. The goal is for teams to explore and recommend how strategic investments in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Emotional Intelligence (EI), or a combination of both can support the growth of both the workforce and the engineering management team.
Teams will need to consider various aspects, such as how AI can streamline operations, improve decision-making, and enhance productivity, while also evaluating how EI can foster stronger team dynamics, leadership skills, and employee engagement. The key objective is to propose a balanced, forward-thinking solution that addresses both technological and human elements of engineering management.
Note: A full, detailed description of the case study will be made available to students upon registration. This will include background information, context, and specific criteria that need to be addressed in the proposed solutions. Faculty advisors will also have access to referenced materials cited in the case study for free download to guide their teams in their analysis and recommendations
