Call for Papers IEEE Engineering Management Review (EMR) Special Issue
The Psychological Microfoundations of Human–AI Interaction
in Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Work
IEEE Engineering Management Review (EMR) is a premier outlet for the research and practice
of engineering, technology, and innovation management, with a tradition of more than fifty
years of publishing. IEEE EMR has built a reputation for high-quality, evidence-based
practice-oriented publications.
Rationale and Scope
AI is transforming how entrepreneurs, leaders, and employees think, decide, and work. While
technological advances receive considerable attention, far less is known about the human
psychological experience that shapes the success or failure of AI adoption. This special issue
examines the micro-level processes—cognition, emotion, fear, motivation, trust, resistance, and
wellbeing—that influence how entrepreneurs, CEOs, TMTs, and employees interact with AI in
daily work and decision-making. By integrating perspectives from psychology, entrepreneurship,
and organizational behavior, the issue highlights how AI affects strategic thinking, opportunity
recognition, leadership behavior, employee experiences, and overall human wellbeing.
