Call for Applications: 2026 TEMS SBC Spark Grant

The IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS) is pleased to announce the 2026 TEMS SBC Spark Grant, designed to support the establishment and early development of newly formed TEMS Student Branch Chapters (SBCs).
This grant aims to empower new chapters by providing initial financial support to kickstart their activities, strengthen their presence, and contribute to the growth of the TEMS global student community.

Grant Overview

  • Funding Amount: Up to USD $100
  • Eligibility: Newly established TEMS Student Branch Chapters formed in 2026.
  • Availability: One-time funding within 12 months of chapter formation (first 5 new chapters).

This grant is intended to help new SBCs organize their first activities, build momentum, and establish a strong foundation for future engagement.

Purpose of the Grant

The Chapter Start-up Grant supports:
  • Launch events and introductory sessions for TEMS.
  • Workshops, seminars, or networking activities.
  • Membership development and outreach initiatives.
  • Activities that promote technology and engineering management.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:
  • Be a newly established TEMS Student Branch Chapter (2026).
  • Apply within 12 months of chapter formation.
  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis (no fixed deadline).
  • Only the first 5 eligible TEMS SBCs will be selected.
  • The application will automatically close once 5 eligible chapters are approved.
 

Application Process

  1. Complete the Spark Grant Application Form.
  2. Submit the proposal for review by the IEEE TEMS Membership Committee.

Note: Applications must be submitted by the SBC Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, or Secretary.

Funding & Reimbursement Process

  • Selected chapters will receive an approval email confirming their grant.
  • After completing the activity, recipients must:
    • Submit the Spark Grant Report Submission Form.
    • Include photos and a brief activity report (2–3 paragraphs).
  • Funding is provided as reimbursement and will be disbursed only after submission and approval of the report.

Reporting Requirements

Recipients are required to:

  • Submit an activity/event report including:
    • Photos
    • 2–3 paragraphs describing chapter activities
  • Use the official Chapter Grant Report Submission Form

Selected reports may be featured in IEEE TEMS Student News.
